Paragon Sentinel Build – Legendary Mode (Level 1–30) 🛡️✨
If you’re not sure which class to pick for your first Mass Effect playthrough, start here. This Sentinel build is designed to be forgiving, tanky, and easy to manage on Legendary, so you can enjoy the story without constant reloads.
Legendary Mode means you only go to level 30, but each point is stronger. So instead of spreading wide, you’ll focus on a tight, supportive, Paragon-style build that comes online fast.
Who this build is for
First‑time Mass Effect players
Anyone nervous about Legendary difficulty
Story‑focused players who want a “can’t go too wrong” build
Role & Difficulty
A calm, protective leader who keeps the squad safe, controls the battlefield, and opens every door, crate, and opportunity.
Best For: Paragon-focused players on Normal / Veteran who enjoy helping their team shine and resolving conflicts with control and diplomacy.
Early Game (Levels 1–10) – Foundation of a Support Leader
Goal: Get reliable damage, basic control, and utility quickly.
Priorities:
Pistols – 4–6 points
Enough for solid accuracy and steady support damage while you focus on powers.
Throw – 4 points
Early crowd control to protect the squad. Use it to knock enemies away from Liara/Tali, or interrupt dangerous targets.
Barrier – 3–4 points
Keeps you standing so you can keep helping the team. Activate it before pushing out of cover or when reviving squadmates.
Electronics – 4 points
Starts your role as “the one who opens everything” and adds bonus shields.
Decryption – 3–4 points
More containers and credits early on = better gear for the whole squad as the story unfolds.
Mid Game (Levels 11–20) – Control & Protection Core
Goal: Fully step into the “calm center of the squad” role.
By level ~20, your build should look like this:
Throw – 8–10 points (close to max)
Reliable peel and interruption. Use it reactively to protect allies, not just aggressively.
Barrier – 7–8 points
This is your safety net. With high ranks, you can safely take aggro while your team repositions.
Lift – 6–8 points
Your main group-control power. Lift clustered enemies so your squad can delete them without taking much return fire.
Electronics – 8–9 points
Strong shields + almost every door/crate open to you. Your team never misses loot.
Decryption – 8–9 points
Extra XP, credits, and gear. Fits your Paragon “take care of the squad” fantasy perfectly.
If you’re getting enough XP from side quests, you’ll hit this stage comfortably before Virmire/Ilos.
Late Game (Levels 21–30) – Paragon Bastion of the Team
Goal: Max out your key tools before the finale.
From level 21 onward, you’ll be finishing and polishing:
Max Throw and Lift
These are your main “save the squad” buttons. At high ranks, they completely shut down dangerous groups and elites.
Max Barrier
Combined with Bastion, this turns you into a walking fortress who can keep leading from the front line when things go wrong.
Spectre Training – 6–8 points
Great all‑round bonuses and better dialogue checks for Paragon charm/intimidate moments.
Finish Pistols
Enough to feel reliable in Ilos/Citadel endgame; you don’t need to be a DPS monster, just consistent.
Optional (leftover points): First Aid / Medicine
Perfect Paragon flavor: stronger squad healing in drawn‑out fights.
Specialization:
Bastion – absolutely the best fit for a Paragon support Sentinel. Stronger Barrier and better control on your biotics.
Recommended Paragon Squads 🤝
You guide, protect, and coordinate:
Control & Compassion Squad
Liara – heavy biotics to chain with your Lift/Throw.
Garrus – tech + precision fire support.
You keep the battlefield safe; they break enemies.
Protective Frontline Squad
Wrex – durable vanguard who soaks pressure.
Tali – tech support, great vs geth/synthetics.
You control spacing and keep them safe while they do the damage.
Paragon Supportive Playstyle Tips
Pop Barrier before stepping out to revive allies or draw fire.
Open fights by Lifting or Throwing the biggest threat to give your team a safe start.
Watch ally health bars: use powers to peel enemies off squishier squadmates first.
Between missions, always use Electronics/Decryption to secure gear and credits – you’re investing in your team’s future.
